My highlights at ISPO 2016!

ISPO is the world's largest sports trade fair. I visited the trade fair in my home town of Munich for two days with our Galaxus sports team and present my personal highlights here!

In 2016, ISPO welcomed over 80,000 trade visitors from over 120 countries. On 180,000 square metres and in 16 exhibition halls, 2645 exhibitors presented new products and innovations from the fields of winter sports, fitness, outdoor and more. Here are my personal highlights of the trade fair

1. Ted Ligety up close and personal!

During my first appointment at the Head stand, I met the American ski racer Ted Ligety, double Olympic champion and five-time world champion. Unfortunately, his current World Cup season is already over due to a cruciate ligament rupture, but he was still very relaxed, funny and confident in the interview at Head. And once again proved that not only snowboarders but also skiers can be extremely cool.
By the way, SHRED is Ted Ligety's official supplier - and can also be found on Galaxus! [[product:2763263,4243447,4243429]] [[image:5538970]]
In addition to Ligety, there were a few other prominent visitors at ISPO - but unfortunately I missed Philipp Lahm and Pep Guardiola.

2. cool and colourful brand Kari Traa

I first discovered the Norwegian brand Kari Traa, named after the founder and former freestyle skier of the same name, at ISPO. The brand mainly produces sports underwear and clothing, functional clothing and jackets in colourful and unusual designs - and only for women! There are currently no Kari Traa products available at Galaxus, but maybe soon...

3. the somewhat different snowshoes

A start-up called Small Foot from Bulgaria introduced us to their innovative version of the classic snowshoe at the trade fair - the so-called "Pocket Snowshoes". These snowshoes are inflatable and can therefore be conveniently stored in a small bag. When you wear them, it looks like you have two small inflatable boats on your feet. A cool idea, but probably not really an option for true freeriders. [[video:25492]]

4th Columbia becomes a partner of Manchester United

As a big football fan, I find it exciting when new synergies are created between football and other sports - such as the cooperation between the outdoor brand Columbia and Manchester United football club. From autumn 2016, Columbia will equip the players with dual-branded clothing for hiking, climbing, mountaineering, winter sports and water sports. And the first models already look pretty good.

Here's our Columbia range

5. a really nice tracker

I actually already own enough with 2 activity trackers - but the new tracker from fitbit called Alta could soon expand my collection. In terms of functionality, the fitness wristband doesn't offer any more than the others, but it looks very elegant and high-quality, is slim and can therefore even be worn alongside a normal wristwatch. I particularly like the leather strap in rosé, which is also one of the two Pantone trend colours for 2016. The tracker will even be presented at the Milan Fashion Show in February, so it's clearly a beautiful fashion accessory. [[product:5694050]]

6 And finally: the obligatory visit to the FC Bayern fan shop

On my annual ISPO trips to Munich, a visit to an FC Bayern Munich fan shop has almost become a tradition, which my Swiss team-mates only join with great reluctance. Nevertheless, I was able to win them over again this year and take home a real Munich beer glass as a souvenir.
