Lip care with UV protection: unattractive designs, with a few exceptions

Lip care products with UV protection are only for hikers and snow sports enthusiasts. At least, that’s what their «designs» suggest. However, I found a few lip balms that offer sun protection and meet my aesthetic requirements.

I think you see what I’m getting at.

Of course, it’s what’s inside that counts. But is it too much to ask of a beauty product to have a pretty design on top of functionality? I’d say no. That’s why I went looking for alternatives to the usual brands, Labello & Co.

For a designer handbag: Bobbi Brown’s Lip Balm with SPF 15

You like to spend more money than necessary for everyday items? If so, Bobbi Brown is for you. This sticky balm in a silver tin looks classy, is scented like all luxury care products and guarantees a bougie feeling. It features nourishing oils of avocado, olive and wheat germ, as well as beeswax and aloe vera. There is a hygiene disadvantage: you apply the product with your fingers.

For a school backpack: Coola’s Liplux Sunscreen «Original» with SPF 30

For a jute bag: Mimitika’s Sunscreen Lip Balm with SPF 20

For a makeup bag: Shiseido’s UV Lip Color Splash with SPF 30

Lip care doesn’t have to be invisible. Sheiseidos «UV Lip Color Splash» features a range of colours and is the perfect complement to your makeup. My favourite is «Uluru Red», a cool red with a slight pink tinge from the tube.

For a clutch: Coola’s Liplux hydrating lip oil «Golden Glow» with SPF 30

Coola's Liplux oil is definitely «that girl» material. The light oil smells fruity, moisturises the lips and gives them a beautiful shine.

There are over 80,000 beauty products and counting on the Galaxus website. That’s quite a range. For just that reason, I regularly share my favourites from a pool of both novelties and classics.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
