Lego special stamp: Especially for your collection
For Lego's 90th anniversary, the Danish toy manufacturer has found a local partner: Swiss Post. Together they are launching two special stamps in November.
90 years after the Danish carpenter Ole Kirk Kristiansen first produced a series of wooden toys in his workshop and thus laid the foundation stone, Lego is the largest toy manufacturer in the world. To mark the anniversary, two special stamps are now being issued in Switzerland for collecting. They are the first stamps ever designed by Lego for the German-speaking countries.
Karen Pascha-Gladyshev, Vice President and Managing Director of the Lego Group for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, is delighted about the collaboration and adds: "The stamps are not only a highlight of our anniversary activities, they also beautifully combine tradition with modernity and playfully convey our Lego values such as creativity and imagination."
The two special stamps appear with different motifs: The A Mail stamp shows a cow grazing in a pasture next to a flag with a Swiss cross. The B Mail stamp features a chalet in the mountains surrounded by conifers.
The two special stamps will be available from 10 November 2022. You can buy them either at a post office branch or on the Swiss Post website for two francs. In addition, the stamps will be presented jointly by Lego and Swiss Post at the Sihlpost in Zurich on 12 November 2022.
