It's a no-brainer: soap in the kitchen, useful or not?

A kitchen is not a beauty salon, I think we can all agree on that. And yet I often see soap and hand cream sitting proudly next to washing-up liquid at my friends' houses. It seems that washing-up liquid isn't good for your skin. Is soap really essential?

Advertisements simply tell us that there is a detergent that is so gentle on the skin that soaps are unnecessary. Instead, we tend to think that what's good for our dishes can only be bad for our skin. But it's actually the opposite, and the advertising is right.

When I flew the family nest over 15 years ago, I suddenly had to cook for myself. But it wasn’t long until this necessity became a virtue. Today, rattling those pots and pans is a fundamental part of my life. I’m a true foodie and devour everything from junk food to star-awarded cuisine. Literally. I eat way too fast.
