Intelligent furniture for discerning decorators
I regularly present a selection of clever designer furniture straight from our range. This time, I'd like to take you on a little tour of side tables and sofa ends with storage space.
Since I left the flat-sharing behind, I've got a lot more space, but that doesn't stop me favouring functional furniture: occasional tables with extra compartments provide storage and keep out dust. For example, you can slip in items you don't use, such as a throw, remote control or magazines. There are also stackable and open variants, which I'll introduce straight away.
To compose
Signed Ferm Living "Plant Box" and "Wire" are multifunctional tables to be put together as you please: You choose the top - available in two different versions, one with a black powder-coated metal finish, the other with smoked oak veneer - and the base in a range of colours. The result? A pedestal and plant trough that double as a coffee table.

To stack
Signed by Iittala, "Vakka" is a stackable piece of birch plywood furniture offering a compendium of storage, available in two heights and two colours, one natural, the other white. Featuring clean lines, these two pieces of furniture match and blend easily into any room in the house.

To arrange
"Dina" by Jan Kurtz consists of two surfaces. Because of its shape, this side table can be moved forward above the sofa.

To wow
On closer inspection, "Neumann", signed Objekte unserer Tage, unfolds its full potential. Not only does this piece of furniture shine with its sculptural appeal, it also knows how to be pragmatic. In addition to its table top, it also contains two compartments created by the folds of the metal surfaces blending completely to form a single unit.
