Infinium running jacket from Gore-Tex: the end of the onion principle?

The name of the new running jacket from Gore-Tex reads rather unwieldy: GORE R5 GORE-TEX INFINIUM Insulated Jacket. It weighs just 250 grams and is designed to keep you dry even during intensive activities: You wear the jacket even on cold days with just one layer underneath.
With this jacket, the onion principle will soon be a thing of the past. By combining materials such as windstopper liner and breathable insulation, Gore Wear aims to create a new wearing experience for ambitious runners in winter with the lightweight Infinium running jacket. You can find out more in the video above.

Familiar materials combined in new ways
Gore-Tex has not reinvented the wheel. The materials used are familiar ones such as windstopper liners and breathable insulation. What is new is the way in which the layers have been combined. The actual windstopper is not on the outside, but on the inside of the jacket. However, at 250 euros or just under 290 francs, you are paying over a franc per gram. Horrendous, in my opinion.

It is not yet clear if and when this product will be available at Galaxus. Our colleagues from Category Management are trying their best. <p
