On 1 and 2 September, I visited the Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, the largest bicycle trade fair in Europe, with our Galaxus Velo team. In my short report, I will tell you about the highlights, innovations and beautiful bike products.

Megatrend E-mountain bikes

E-bikes over e-bikes! Motorised bikes are no longer a novelty, but are now THE trend in the mountain bike sector. Hardly any brand will be able to do without e-bikes in their range next year and even mountain bikes for very ambitious and experienced bikers are increasingly being equipped with a motor. Just like e-bikes, the entire accessories sector is also booming: Lupine has even designed a headlight specifically for Bosch e-bike displays, which was crowned with a Eurobike Award. The front light is mounted directly under the display and integrates perfectly into it. Transport e-bikes with an integrated cargo area for carrying small children or shopping are also very much in vogue.

Beautiful world of bicycles

In addition to the exhibition of technical e-bikes and high-quality bikes with top components, Eurobike is always a showcase for beautiful and stylish products from the world of cycling. I was particularly impressed by the racing bikes from Bianchi, an Italian brand steeped in tradition that pays particular attention to style and looks. The racing bikes will probably also be available at Galaxus from next spring. The beautiful retro-style city bikes from Creme Cycles and the new city bike from Tern are also real eye-catchers. Eurobike also had a lot to offer in terms of bike fashion! I thought the cycling jerseys from ION and Zimtstern and the cycling shoes from Five Ten were particularly cool. You can now find all three brands at Galaxus from spring 2017! [[image:6444471]] [[image:6447552]] [[image:6444470]] [[image:6444473]] [[image:6444472]]

Award winners

As every year, innovative bike products were honoured with awards by a jury of six experts at Eurobike. Winners included the Lumos Helmet with integrated bike lights and the jakkyl hde mountain bike helmet from uvex, which can be transformed from a half-shell to a full-face helmet in the blink of an eye. The Lector Kids hardtail bike from Ghost with a carbon frame for ambitious young racers also won an award. The Quick Motion roller trainer from Elite, whose suspension system facilitates balance during training and which has a 3-stage magnetic resistance adjustment, was also honoured with an award. The Backpacking Line from Ortlieb and the discreet Oi bicycle bell from knog, which doesn't look anything like a bell and sounds very pleasant, were also honoured with a Eurobike Award.

Nino's Olympic bike

Another highlight of the trade fair was to be found at the Scott stand: Nino Schurter's Olympic bike was on display there, including the original dirt from Brazil, and was one of the favourite photo motifs of many visitors.
