Family man Alexander H. needs a new hoover for his household. After a quick search on Galaxus, he finds the Electrolux Pure C9 PC91-GREEN. A container with a capacity of 1.6 litres does not suggest such exorbitant dimensions. The 9 metre cable length does - but cables are supplied rolled up. And even 50 metres of cable don't need such a huge box.

The ecological idea plays a major role in the life of the H. family. Discussions about Greta Thunberg and Co. are omnipresent in their household. "At first, we were puzzled as to why such a small hoover had to be packed in such a large box," writes Alexander in an email to the customer service team at Digitec Galaxus AG. It is somewhat contradictory, because Electrolux in particular has not only taken up the cause of recycling, but has even printed it on its own product boxes.

What follows is anything but run-of-the-mill, as this is often where the hate speech against employees and Digitec Galaxus begins. Not so with Alexander: "We had a wonderful recycling idea that our son (16 months) is more than happy about (see pictures)." Yes, the pictures in this article are also from the customer. The message continues: "Every day now he runs into the house, rings the bell, answers the phone or cooks. We hope you are just as happy to have made a small child happy 😃."

After numerous "Yeeeees" and "Ooooohs", it's back to the keyboard for colleague Milovan Djokic to answer the email. He explains to Alexander that it can generally happen that there is a carton bottleneck due to the enormous number of parcels in the warehouse, whereupon the next best thing is used to avoid a delayed delivery. Nevertheless, the feedback is also looked at by the Logistics team in order to take care of the environment in terms of parcel size. By the way: As a small thank you for sharing the story, Alexander's son will receive a vegetable set - because you have to start early if you want to be a chef.
