Hiking in the city - the Terradora by Keen tested

Hiking equals mountains and unspoilt nature? Not at all. My colleague Julia and I spent an afternoon hiking in Zurich to test the new Terradora outdoor shoe from the Keen brand.
The Keen Terradora
The Terradora model from Keen is a lightweight and waterproof hiking boot specially designed for women. It is available in various colours and designs. We put the purple and turquoise-coloured model with a mid-high shaft to the test for an afternoon on a hike through Zurich. Here is our test verdict.
Theresa: "From the very first time I slipped them on, there was one thing that really impressed me about these shoes: how comfortable they are! No pressure, no rubbing, no blisters on my feet - even after several hours of walking. The waterproof Terradora is also extremely light for a hiking shoe. The shoe runs rather large for my liking. I normally wear a size 39.5 or 40, but the 39 model of the Terradora fitted me perfectly. In terms of looks, I think the shoe is absolutely fine for hiking. For leisure and everyday wear, I prefer slightly more discreet trainers."
Julia: "Unlike with "classic hiking shoes", I didn't have to break in the Keen Terradora. Even after the first hike, I was able to slip out of the shoes without blisters or aching feet. The lightness and comfortable feel convinced me: a hiking boot doesn't have to be heavy and bulky after all. Although the design is more for the brave, I wouldn't want to be without this shoe on any hike. For city trips, however, I prefer to stick with my beloved trainers. Like Theresa, I would also recommend choosing a size smaller: Although I normally wear a size 41, the size 40 fitted me perfectly."
.
And by the way: I can highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't believe that Zurich is also a great place for hiking and walking.

Hiking outfits
When it comes to hiking outfits, it is advisable to dress according to the onion principle, especially in autumn. If you're not so keen on outdoor trousers, you can also complement your hiking outfit with jeans or tights.
My personal favourite is the Kari Traa brand. The Norwegian brand's functional shirts and fleece jackets are beautiful, super functional and absolutely suitable for leisure time.
