Here comes the game changer in the table bomb buffet!
No New Year's Eve or birthday without a table bomb - that's my six-year-old daughter's motto. From now on, I'm inclined to agree with her. But only if we pop the reusable table bomb from Artoz for self-filling.
Flupp ... Oh, I've actually sucked a colourful cotton ball under the sofa. Almost a year after it emerged from its natural habitat: a table bomb. I hadn't realised until now that I could also buy the so-called blowpipe balls separately.

I've never actively looked for them, to be honest. After all, our cats already have enough toys. And apart from the four-legged friends, nobody is interested in the balls five minutes after the table bomb has exploded - let alone the rest of the contents, which are always the same. Not even daughter Zoe, although she loves table bombs. Oh well, the main thing is that it pops.

Artoz rethinks the table bomb
Now, however, the table-bomb-filling doldrums are over at Vogt. Responsible for this is Artoz, a company from Freiamt in the canton of Aargau that specialises in paper and craft materials. I fill their table bomb myself. Or I'm lazy and go back to an already filled one.
There are already table bombs that you can fill yourself, you might object at this point. And yes, you're absolutely right. But the reason for my enthusiasm lies somewhere else entirely: Artoz has quietly and secretly turned the table bomb game on its head and invented a reusable one!
Bang at the touch of a button
«Where there's smoke, there's fire», this saying literally applies to conventional table bombs. To set them off, I light the fuse at the bottom. Before I do this, however, I have to make sure that the surface is fireproof and easy to clean. The burnt fuse leaves marks that I don't want to risk on our parquet laminate. After the bang, I also have to air the room because it smells of sulphur, as if the devil himself has paid a visit.
The reusable table bomb from Artoz saves me all that. First, I remove the safety pin on the side. Then I press a button where the fuse is on conventional bombs. This triggers a patented mechanism: The base of the table bomb shoots up and catapults the contents and lid into the air. In the video above, you can see how I test the trigger mechanism several times. Momol you, that's quite a bang!

It pops, and pops, and pops ...
The thing I like best is that this trigger mechanism is sustainable without fire and doesn't pollute the air in the home. Unlike conventional table bombs, which are waste after a single use, the one from Artoz is a reusable product. I press the base inside the bomb down firmly until it clicks into place, secure it with the split pin and voilà: The table bomb is ready to go off again. Grandiose!
Speaking of filling: As already mentioned, you can buy pre-filled table bombs for various occasions. However, I personally wasn't really impressed by the contents. None of the three that I tested in the video review did.
That's why I'm clearly a fan of the unfilled table bomb from Artoz. There are no limits to the imagination for the contents, but there are limits to the weight of the contents. According to the manufacturer, it weighs a maximum of 250 grammes. Well, that's certainly enough to turn a «Unicorn Party» into a real unicorn party.
In a nutshell
The only table bomb you need
I didn't expect to get excited about a table bomb. But that's exactly what the Aargau-based company Artoz has managed to do. Their reusable and customisable table bomb has won me over all round and I have nothing to complain about. I always prefer their push-button trigger mechanism to lighting a fuse in the home.
From now on, there will be no more disappointment about the sparse and eternally identical contents - and if there is, it's our own fault. Sure, the table bombs from Artoz cost a little more than the cheap ones you can buy in a pack of three at the discounter. But you'll enjoy them much longer and more. That's a promise!
