Over 1,000 merchants now on Galaxus marketplace

Galaxus now sells adventure packages by geschenkidee.ch

Online department store Galaxus recently included adventure packages by geschenkidee.ch to its range. With the addition of new partners to its merchant programme, Galaxus now offers over 2 million items – a number expected to hit the 3 million mark by the end of this year.
Digitec Galaxus has entered uncharted territory and expanded its product range with a further service category. The cooperation with Swiss company geschenkidee.ch now gives Galaxus customers access to more than 1,300 adventure packages and gift ideas. The extensive portfolio of events, courses and travel packages includes everything from high heel coaching for businesswomen to eBike tours along the Emmental cheese route to weekend trips catering for the hopeless romantic.

By integrating geschenkidee.ch in their merchant programme, Galaxus is adding yet another product category to their range. For this cooperation, Switzerland’s largest online department store is acting as a service provider – managing product data as well as the ordering and payment process. The physical delivery of the adventure packages, however, is carried out by geschenkidee.ch.
Fast-growing merchant programme
«We only give selected merchants access to our online shop; merchants who share our philosophy and meet our customers’ quality standards», says Stefan Fraude, Head of Marketplace at Digitec Galaxus. «If these requirements are met, we are happy to share our infrastructure, 15 years of experience in eCommerce as well as the reach and relevance Digitec Galaxus has in Swiss online trade.»
Thanks to the integration of new merchant partners, such as interior design company Teo Jakob, sports specialist Bergzeit, Ochsner Sport, Taurus or geschenkidee.ch, the range on galaxus.ch has grown from 1 million to over 2 million articles since early 2018. The aim of Switzerland’s largest online retailer is to further expand its product portfolio and offer 3 million products by the end of the year.
