

Galaxus has something for everyone

Galaxus, the online department stores', is expanding its fashion business: it has just added 11,000 shoe models to its range thanks to cooperation with two specialists, Vögele Shoes and surf4shoes. Other partnerships with fashion suppliers will follow. This latest addition to the galaxus.ch retailer network brings the range to over 1.6 million items. By the middle of the year, it should exceed two million.
Galaxus - Switzerland's leading online department stores' - is investing in the footwear sector: thanks to a partnership with Vögele Shoes - a traditional local brand - and surf4shoes - a German online footwear retailer - galaxus.ch is expanding its online collection of women's, men's and children's shoes with well-known brands and distributors. From now on, the galaxus.ch footwear range will comprise around 19,000 items. Of these, 600 come from the Vögele Shoes product range and almost 10,500 from the surf4shoes range. It ranges from flip-flops and pumps to rubber boots and stilettos.
"For the expansion of our business, we have found a strong partner in Galaxus," says Manfred Faigle, director of surf4shoes. From the outset, he seems to have been convinced by Digitec Galaxus' reach and long experience in Swiss online commerce. Vicenzo Kheller, Head of E-Commerce at Vögele Shoes, is equally confident: "Thanks to this cooperation, we are able to establish our brand awareness and, above all, address new customer groups."
The target up to July? A range of two million items
The expansion of the footwear range is the first part of a major expansion by Galaxus in the Swiss online clothing sector: "In the coming months, we will be adding many fashion suppliers," says Florian Teuteberg, CEO of Digitec Galaxus. This integration of Vögele Shoes and surf4shoes into the Galaxus product portfolio also marks an important milestone in the roll-out of the merchant programme launched in 2016. Over the past 18 months, Digitec Galaxus has integrated well-known partners such as Globus, a department store, Thomas Sabo, a jewellery and watch supplier, and Baur Au Lac Vins, a high-end wine merchant, into galaxus.ch. . Since then, the Galaxus department stores' has been stocked with more than 1.6 million items. By way of comparison: a year ago, Galaxus was still offering 750,000 products. "Our targets are ambitious. According to our forecasts, our range should exceed 2 million items by the middle of the year," says Florian Teuteberg, CEO of Digitec Galaxus. "But we will not compromise on delivery times, availability or quality of service.
