For a quick tidy-up: these 3 quick tips will help

Is your home in a mess, but you don't really have time to tidy up? These tricks will quickly tidy things up.
Did you know that there is an official day for tidying up? According to the Calendar of Curious Holidays, 14 January is "Organize your Home Day". Is that inconvenient for you right now? And you don't have much time to tidy up? Luckily, there are a few things you can do to get rid of some clutter in a hurry.
1. repurpose the laundry basket
It collects stray items and brings them safely back home: the laundry basket taxi. Simply grab a basket and walk around your home with it. You quickly throw in any items that are out of place or in the wrong room. When you get to the place or room where the items in the basket actually belong, take them out again. This saves you unnecessary walking.
Hard-shell models with three handles that are easy to carry are best. If you have a large flat and carrying it becomes too strenuous in the long run, the Micasa model on wheels may help.
2. insert the bin liner
Similar principle to the laundry basket: take a sturdy garbage bag and use it to work your way through the individual rooms. You'll be surprised how much rubbish you find. This could be things that have accumulated for a short time, such as an empty, torn envelope or the packaging of your muesli bars, in which there are only three out of ten left. But also things that have been lying around for a while: For example, decorations that you've grown tired of can now leave your home.
3. clear surfaces
Admittedly, it's more than tempting to use chests of drawers, tables or the kitchen counter as storage space. And these surfaces will probably never be completely empty. However, filling them up with things quickly creates chaos and a cluttered look. Instead, use storage containers and baskets to store your everyday items. The baskets can then be placed on your pantry shelf, in the wall cupboard or on top of the fridge. This looks more organised than having lots of individual items lying around.
Baskets are of course available in the shop in abundance. The hanging basket from House Doctor, for example, can even be easily attached to the wall thanks to its handle.
