Double jumper: guaranteed to keep you warm in winter
Repurposing an item of clothing is nothing new in fashion. The latest example: a jumper that you convert into a turtleneck or scarf.
Admittedly, fashion designers are not always particularly creative when it comes to fashion: certain trends celebrate a revival in an endless loop. But designers also have imaginative moments. For example, when they tell us to wear a shirt upside down or combine cycling shorts with a blazer off the bike saddle. A current example is the jumper and jumper combo, for which you need the same jumper twice.
The look reminds me of the styling of the jeunesse dorée, who like to go for the preppy look. I'm thinking of polo shirts and a jumper over the top, which is slightly shifted in the neck of the wearer. The new trend look is based on a similar principle. The only difference is that you need the same top twice. Put one on as normal. The second is draped around the shoulders like a scarf. Tie the sleeves together at the sides. If you want to do everything right, choose a model in a muted colour such as beige, black or grey.

Whether you choose fine or chunky knit is a matter of taste. The finer the jumper, the more elegant the Insta trend looks. Conversely, the coarser, the cooler. I prefer coarse knitwear, as the fabric falls less beautifully or too neatly in the thin version. This takes away the desired casualness of the look.
This styling is definitely a question of budget. But as fashion is supposed to be fun and I like this look, I'll definitely be wearing it. But I don't yet know whether I'll buy the same jumper twice. I'll probably opt for two colour-coordinated jumpers instead. When combining them, I'll make sure that the colour and texture are identical. The trend look looks strange when you combine fine and chunky knits. And yes, I've asked myself several times whether it's actually worth buying the same jumper twice. My conclusion: at least you'll save money on a scarf.
