digitec plays: We let everything burn in "Overcooked 2"

Many cooks spoil the broth. Nowhere is this phrase more true than in "Overcooked". In this co-op game, up to four players try to cook together. The most important ingredients: Chaos, laughter and swearing. Our live stream starts at around 11am.

"Overcooked" was the multiplayer sensation of 2016. The indie game is based on a simple co-operative game principle that guarantees hectic and smooth sofa evenings. Part 2 expands the existing menu with fresh ingredients, dishes and, of course, unusual cuisines.

You still try to cook orders alone or preferably with up to three friends under time pressure. The process would be simple in principle. Get the ingredients, prepare, cook, put everything on a plate and serve. The problem is that the kitchens are not normal kitchens. Sometimes you have to deal with fire, sometimes you're in a hot air balloon, sometimes on a raging river. Especially if there are four of you playing, chaos is inevitable. No sooner do you want to pop the meat into the pan than the cooker is suddenly in a different place. Or you block each other in the narrow aisles. Or everyone is chopping tomatoes, even though onion soup is called for and there are no clean plates available anyway.

In "Overcooked 2", you need good teamwork, which usually degenerates into wild shouting on the sofa. After all, everyone is the chef and everyone else has to listen. So who better to help me with the Let's Play of this gourmet game than our culinary editor Simon Balissat. This can only go well, right?

"Overcooked 2" is available for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
