Beard trimmer tested by saldo: Do good beard trimmers have to be expensive?

The consumer magazine "saldo" tested 8 battery-powered beard trimmers. Conclusion: The test winner with the rating "very good" is also available for little money.
The consumer magazine saldo entered eight beard trimmers into the race. The models were tested by ten bearded men over a period of several weeks in a test studio at the Stuttgart laboratory Ipi. Among other things, the extent to which the devices are water permeable, how high the energy consumption and noise level are and how stable they are built were measured. The latter was determined on the basis of twenty simulated falls from a height of 80 centimetres.
What criteria were used for testing
? The overall marks awarded are made up of the results from the practical and technical tests, with the former being given three times the weighting. The practical test scrutinised cutting performance, trimming ability, evenness, contour cutting, time required, skin comfort and handling. The technical aspects included moisture resistance, drop test, energy consumption, noise measurement and safety.
5 of the 8 models tested can also be found in our range:
Place 1
Test winner with a score of 5.5 "very good"
The "MB4125 BeardBoss Styler" model from Remington scored best. It particularly impressed with its fast and clean trimming results and good skin comfort. Points were deducted for power consumption.

Place 2
Score 5.4 "good"
Philips took second place on the winners' podium with its "BT 5200" model. Conclusion: Solid cutting performance, great skin comfort and guaranteed evenness in terms of length. Rather worse than good: robustness.
Place 3
Grade 5.3 "good"
The Panasonic model performs slightly worse than the runner-up, especially in terms of cutting performance. The appliance is also weaker in terms of energy consumption. In the drop test, however, it impresses across the board - in contrast to the Philips model.
Place 5
Score 5.1 "good"
Braun came in fifth place with rather poor moisture resistance and a moderately good drop test. However, the model can score points with the skin comfort it offers.
Place 7
Score 4.3 "sufficient"
The penultimate place went to the BaByliss model, which had shortcomings in terms of contour cutting and clarity of the setting options. On the other hand, it plays in the top league in terms of drop resistance.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
