Alpina "Prolan Vest": the back protector made from sheep's wool

Alpina launches the renaissance of wool in sportswear. The sustainably produced sheep's wool in their new back protector protects, regulates body temperature and is said to remain odourless even after prolonged use.
Back protectors can protect freeskiers or mountain bikers from serious injuries. However, these waistcoats are usually made of more or less hard polymers and are therefore rarely comfortable to wear. With the "Prolan Vest", Alpina is breaking new ground with an "old" material.

Prolan: sustainable sheep's wool
Wool has been replaced by synthetic fibres as a material in sportswear in recent years. Now the sustainable raw material is experiencing a revival in the back protector from Alpina, as Head of Marketing Moritz Maier explained to me at the international sports trade fair ISPO in Munich at the beginning of the year. More on this in the video above.
In collaboration with Lavalan, Alpina has developed "Prolan". This is sheep's wool that has been processed in such a way that its cushioning properties go beyond the functionality of conventional protectors. The new Alpina protector fulfils TÜV standard 1621-2 level 1 and is therefore suitable for any sporting activity.
The product is also expected to be available at Galaxus from mid-December.
