5 essentials for your perfect surf session
The destination is chosen, and the waves (magicseaweed.com) promise to be grandiose. As the ocean is your second home, it doesn't really matter where you stay. You've only got one thing on your mind - you, your board and the waves. With our little checklist, you'll have everything you need for your surfing session.
1. The board
General: large boards offer greater stability, make rowing easier and glide very well. They require less effort and are therefore suitable for beginners.
Short boards with less volume are easier to handle and faster, but also harder to master. They are used by experienced and professional surfers.
The softboard is ideal for anyone who wants to start surfing. It's easy to handle, doesn't break easily and presents almost no risk of injury. With the Fish Coco Classic from NSP, you have a versatile board: stable, wide and offering enough speed and manoeuvrability. Bic's shortboard is dedicated to experienced surfers looking for a high-performance, robust and reliable partner for all waves and conditions.

2. The carrying case
The carry bag helps protect your board during transport, especially at the airport. If you choose a slightly larger bag, you still have room to put accessories in it. To transport your board on the rental car, we recommend the Cam Lock System from FSC.

3. The outfit
Neoprene wetsuits, lycras and Reef Booties protect you from the sun, cold water, sharp edges and rocks. Apart from the thickness of the neoprene wetsuit and its size, you can choose your surf outfit to suit your mood.

4. Accessories
The leash is one of the most important accessories. It should be the length of your surfboard. A tail pad gives grip on the surf. By applying the right wax, the board becomes non-slip and therefore easier to manoeuvre. Depending on the water temperature, there are different compositions. There are also different fin options: the FCS fin system is widespread, offers a wide choice and is easy to change.

5. Capture the perfect moment
Even the best surfing holidays have to end sometime... which is why it's essential to capture your surf sessions on film. A GoPro mounted directly on the board or a drone that follows you and perfectly stages your tricks work best.

Whether on the sea, on the road or in the glittering powder. I prefer to move sideways on the board. It may sound trite, but for me it is still the best feeling in the world. It's the perfect balance to my job as a product manager in winter, water and fun sports. Shred it!
