10 armchairs that couldn't be more different
Just as your holiday ideas may differ from mine, you probably imagine your seating island differently to me. That's why there are numerous designs of armchairs to suit every taste in living.
Every time I'm personally looking for something new for my flat, I take you to the CC. At the moment, it's an armchair so I can put my legs up to read. I want it to be there for my solo sessions on the one hand, but also to complement my sofa so that I can sit opposite my visitors rather than next to them - and look good at the same time.
Break in style allowed
Successful styling thrives on surprises. This can be achieved by breaking with style here and there. Compared to a huge and dominant sofa, you can take a risk with an armchair and use little tricks to ensure that it doesn't look like a foreign body. The only important thing is to clarify the dimensions and function that it should fulfil. Should it be used on its own or as part of a seating area?
If it stands alone, you can place a side table opposite it that either repeats the colours, pattern or material or create a retreat zone with a rug.
Together with a colour-coordinated cushion or a cosy blanket on the sofa, a recliner will instantly become part of your seating area, no matter how different it may be.
Personally, I will opt for a bold armchair that will mix up my otherwise restrained interior. These ten armchairs will show you just how nice it can be to have a piece of furniture that stands out from the crowd.
1. "Flair" from Dutchbone
This lounge chair with playful fringes looks like it's from another era and could be in a lavish hotel lobby in Hollywood. Its forest green velvet cover makes it glamorous and makes it shimmer in the light. It gets exciting when you combine it with the contrasting and bare industrial look.

2. "Nido" from Karup
A futon armchair like this is space-saving and flexible. It can be used in any room where you need it and can be moved quickly. If you have two of them, you can put them together and turn them into a body-friendly sleeping area

3. "Ellen" from Bloomingville
With its high armrests and wide seat, a club chair like "Ellen" is one of the more spacious models. Its curved backrest almost looks as if it wants to hug you. Thanks to its cubic shape, it is still compact.
4. "Kubu" from Dutchbone
This frame of the "Kubu" rattan armchair holds you like a bowl. It allows you to lean back slightly and sink into it just enough to relax, even if there are no cushions. On the other hand, its material, which consists mainly of rattan and powder-coated iron, does not weigh down your room. A decorative cushion will make it more comfortable and easier to match it to the rest of your colour scheme too.

5. "Klever" from House Doctor
A simple combination of three main components - steel, foam and polyester - characterises this lounge chair. The fact that its armrests consist of individual steel struts gives it an airy appearance despite its dark colours. It blends in with its surroundings, even if its appearance does not match the rest of the interior one-to-one.
6. "A Conversation Piece" from Umage
A club chair that encourages conversation: A curved shell frame made of plywood and an inserted upholstery makes "A Conversation Piece" a visual eye-catcher and a physical place for partners and conversation in a lounge.
7. "Adwin" from Zuiver
The small distance to the floor and the slanted position alone reveal that this armchair is made for leaning back. Although it is mainly made from a single poster section, it cuts a slender figure thanks to its curved steel armrest. To make it comfortable, it has been specially upholstered with a padded leather element.

8. "Bar Velvet" from Dutchbone
"Bar Velvet" is a lounge chair that will not only turn your head with its looks, but also with its swivel base. It's your "match" if you like to keep moving even while reading.
9. "Fox" from 366 Concept

Here, for once, tweed does not adorn a Chanel jacket, but an armchair: "Fox" is designed in a retro style and is made of solid ash. Even though it goes with the vintage look like a cherry with a cake, it can also create a wow effect on its own in a minimalist loft full of concrete walls, glass and metal elements.
10. "Jaey" from Zuiver
Corners and edges are good, especially when they are upholstered as in this version. This is what characterises the "Jaey" armchair and guarantees comfort. Its soft look is also enhanced by its pale pink colour.
