    UNAS 2 / 4

Hello together Ubiquiti has recently introduced the new UNAS 2 / 4, which seems to be a practical and cheaper alternative to Synology. Will this model be included in your range? Kind regards Remax

Newbie at Ubiquiti - experience with switching

After many years of dissatisfaction with various brands (Netgear; Zyxel; Fritz!), I have finally switched to Ubiquiti. I was very afraid that my existing system would become completely uncontrollable. Now - after a week of switching, I can only warmly recommend considering such a system change. However, I didn't want to replace all my existing devices at the beginning - I started with the cheap brand-new Unifi Express. I connected this as a router behind the Sunrise Connect Box 3 and replaced the "old" Netgear. I was amazed at how smoothly this installation worked. The other existing APs are cleanly integrated. All IoTs continue to work perfectly. The icing on the cake is the system management that Unifi offers and is an integral part of the UX. Unfortunately, Digitec does not (yet) offer the UX - I purchased it directly from the EU store at Ubiquiti. I will now gradually upgrade my entire system with further Ubiquiti devices over the next few days. Additional UXs can be integrated either as APs or via mesh - so I can replace all other APs. I'm writing this because I spent an enormous amount of time making this decision. I was very unsure whether everything would run as smoothly as my "old" environment. Perhaps this article can be helpful.

U6 Lite too high transmission power

Good day I have just put two new U6 Lite APs into operation and was absolutely impressed by the range on the 2.4 GHz. Especially on my laptop, it's about the same on the mobile. When I looked more closely, I saw that the TX power from the 2.4 GHz radio is at 26 dBm (almost 400 mW). "Site Country" is of course set to Switzerland and other WiFi 5 APs in the same site are also only transmitting at 20 dBm (100 mW). In Switzerland, a maximum of 100 mW is allowed on the 2.4 GHz band, and in no case more. My new APs are therefore transmitting far too strongly. Not that I'm afraid of radiation or anything like that, but it's simply illegal to transmit with more than 100 mW in the 2.4 GHz band for WLAN. What is the best thing to do? I have already tried the APs on another controller (latest version, freshly "set up"), also the same problem.

    POE Power Forwarding (Daisy-Chain)

Hello I have pulled a UPS power into the garage to operate a WLAN AP via POE. Now I want to run another device over the same line. Router > POE injector > WLAN AP > Second POE device Sure, the solution is obvious, but it requires some installation effort. I could set up a 230V power source and use a POE switch to feed both devices via POE. But I don't want to do that. After a lot of googling, I couldn't find a suitable product for this, but the technology seems to exist. Is there a WLAN AP with POE forwarding / daisy chain from Ubiquiti or another manufacturer? Thank you very much for your help.

Add Access Point WiFi 6 Mesh to the range

Ubiquiti has new WiFi 6 devices, you already have a few of them in your range. It would be great if you could add the "Access Point WiFi 6 Mesh (U6-Mesh-EU)".

    Availability and delivery dates etc.

... are really bad here! Some devices are not available for months... Tip: Order directly from the manufacturer! Many things are ~10% cheaper (incl. VAT and fees!) - you only have to be patient for 3-4 days - but what is that compared to "Currently not available and no delivery date available" or a delivery date in 2-3 months ;-)

Availability Access Point WiFi 6 Professional

Hello to each other, Do you know when the above-mentioned AP from Ubiquiti (U6-Pro) will be available, preferably from digitec? I still need an AP for our house (we have an AC Pro and a nanoHD), and would like to buy something up-to-date. We have a few devices in the house (children and teenagers), so I don't know if the "Lite" range would be right. The nanHD actually runs well too. Thanks for your help and feedback. Greetings, Christian

    Unifi Beacon

Dear Galaxus people When will you include the Unifi Beacon from Ubiquiti in your range? With it, home users could also set up a mesh network without having to take the super strong extenders. Thank you and greetings

Network for SmartHome and fibre connection

Hello Community We are moving into our new home soon and I would like to move in with new network equipment. Since we will have about 50 IoT devices in the network (most of them WLAN), it is important for me to have an appropriate separation. My current watch list: https://www.digitec.ch/de... The idea is to connect a PoE line to the living room via the central building cabling on a US-8-60W to the US-8 for the TV and the AP AC-Lite. A PoE line for the AP AC-Lite on site and the remaining rooms connected without PoE for the time being. Then the USG is connected to the US-8-60W and the EdgeRouter with SFP for Init7 Internet to the USG. I have already installed the Unifi controller on my Synology NAS and have already had a look at the settings. My questions: - Does this basically make sense and is it correctly thought out? - Is the USG to be understood as a firewall? - Which device does the DHCP server? - I can then set the separation of IoT and LAN/WLAN on the Unifi controller (VLAN?) and the APs then automatically separate the connections? - Are the AP AC-Lite enough or would you rather advise me to use a "larger" AP? Thanks to all of you who take the time to read this and leave a comment. Greetings, Freshmeat

Use the Unifi Protect app as an alarm

Are there potentia-free inputs for the Unifi products where you can switch on various alarms? It would be a great combination if the Protect app could also display the monitoring of various devices or other things... ?

Which Ubiquiti system is right for me?

Hello all. I am looking for a new system for a flat. - Swisscom line with Internet box - Currently 2 x Apple Airport Extreme - Entire flat is wired via CAT 6 Now I want to replace the Airports with a Ubiquiti system. Flat approx. 230m2. Approximately 3 receivers would be sufficient. It is also important that the system is capable of WLAN6. Who can give me valuable tips on what is best to use from Ubiquiti? As I said, I can connect the wifi receivers in the rooms via cable. Thanks and greetings Philippe

    Power over Ethernet without injector

Can the current Unifi products be operated on a normal PoE switch like Netgear? I.e. you can do without the Power Injector? I bought one of the first Unifi products about 8 years ago and was quite disappointed because I had bought a new Netgear PoE switch. Shortly afterwards I ordered a Cisco AP, which was really capable of PoE while the Unifi was rotting in the drawer. Today I read that in some cases no injector is included. But I'm never sure whether the specification of 802.3af means that the AP runs on a normal PoE switch. But I assume so, otherwise the specification makes no sense. With a Unifi it says 802.3af but also that a proprietary PoE is supported. For me, an AP today only makes sense if it can run PoE on a normal Netgear or Lynksys, etc.

    What do I need

I have a UPC router (the wise one) and a Ubiquiti UniFi AP AC-PRO. My disksstation has no access locally with Synology Assistant but from outside with dns it does. as soon as I change the settings the whole thing crashes. I need something like this so that I can easily get a stable home network and if possible use the router only as a modem. thank you.

    Cloud Key Gen 2

Hello Together We have the following scenario in our company. 4 locations, 4 servers, 4 firewalls and 4 different domains. Now we want to equip our company with new APs that must be able to do the following? Configuration from one location with a software that distributes the whole thing to the APs via VPN. AP1 in location 1 gets config from server 1 in location 1 and access from AP1 to network 1 must be possible. AP2 in location2 gets config from Server1 in location1 and access from AP2 into network2 must be possible. AP3 in location3 gets config from server1 in location1 and access from AP3 to network3 must be possible. AP4 in location4 gets config from server1 in location1 and access from AP4 to network4 must be possible. I have read a lot about Ubiquiti but I am not sure if this is possible if the software is not in a public cloud. I look forward to your answers or alternative solutions. Thank you very much. User

    Availability Edgreouter 12

Dear Digitec Team, Will you include the recently released Edgerouter 12 ( https://www.ubnt.com/edgemax... ) in your range and, if so, do you have an approximate forecast regarding delivery dates? I generally notice that with Ubiquiti products it often takes several months after the manufacturer's release date until the products are effectively available in this country. Do you know the reasons for this?
