Return of a former Steg...
Like many people here, I unfortunately put my trust in this subsidiary. Of the 10 products I bought, almost half were faulty, but that's not the problem. The first product was a 'gaming' tower fix assembled by them, but which turned out to be more of an office tower at a higher price. A few years later, I wanted to adapt this PC for gaming, but all the components were sealed and soldered, and it was impossible to improve anything. Between 2, working in the audiovisual industry (so I needed a good machine), I bought a laptop with the essential performance for editing, photography, 3D gaming... An Asus ROG Strix, which after barely 3 weeks was already in a poor state of health. To sum up very quickly, 3/4 years of back and forth between steg / asus and me for repairs, tests etc., but never (even though the problems were always the same) a refund or replacement of the device. After a discussion with my lawyer, he explained that after 3 repairs I could demand a refund, which I was quick to do as my studies and work had been severely disrupted by the cursed machine and a new device would have done the trick. They refused and offered me a final repair, so I had no choice but to accept. EXCEPT that, when the repair was carried out, the guarantee had expired (as a reminder, the guarantee in Switzerland for electronic devices is a minimum of 3 years, if there are no faults, otherwise the 3 years start as soon as the device is in order), so I received a call from Asus claiming 1400.- for repairs, which I refused. I'm therefore condemned to take the case to court when, on top of that, they're now bankrupt, which doesn't surprise me given the treatment I've received from them and the employees I've spoken to who've disappeared from the Steg ship. It's a completely disgusting manoeuvre, taking advantage of the fact that the repairs are taking longer (if at all) to take the appliance out of warranty and no longer have to answer to the customer... If it's that simple, I think I'll start up a whole bunch of sales companies myself x)
