Cats are picky. Perhaps this is why many wet foods are presented as a kind of delicacy. They are called "Gourmet menu with game pâté on poultry aspic", "Salmon pâté with fine pieces on yoghurt jelly" or "Juicy chicken on tasty carrots with catnip".
But expensive foods in particular are not convincing. Of the 27 wet cat foods tested, 16 received a very good or good rating. The three poor test losers are available from around two euros a day. The cheapest very good food, on the other hand, provides cats with everything they need for just 37 cent.
