From A for Apollo to Y for Yoko?hama, we tested what the market has to offer. In addition to the well-known premium brands with their cheaper second and third brands, more and more tyre companies from all over the world are trying to gain a foothold in the lucrative German tyre market. Unfortunately, this also includes a lot of cheap tyres with questionable properties, as our tests repeatedly show. The problem for motorists interested in buying tyres is that they all look round and black on the outside - but you can only find out how dynamic and safe they really are with the help of serious tyre tests like this one. To do this, the 54 candidates we bought undercover first have to undergo a preliminary test in which each candidate is braked from 80 km/h in the wet.
