Test Report

Coffee pod and capsule machines tested - three systems, two test winners

The best coffee pod and capsule machines tested are two comparatively inexpensive appliances. We also tested an innovation: CoffeeB with unpackaged coffee balls. Quick and convenient good caffè crema or espresso: this is possible with many, but not all of the 15 coffee pod and capsule machines tested. Inexpensive machines for which the corresponding capsules are also inexpensive are at the top of the list. Several capsule systems beat market leader Nespresso. We tested the CoffeeB Globe as a special innovation. Instead of pods or capsules, it uses pressed coffee balls without individual packaging, thus saving on waste.
