At five to seven months, babies start eating porridge - ideally vegetable-potato-meat porridge. However, the midday porridge may also contain noodles or rice. Stiftung Warentest tested 20 ready-to-eat jars of porridge - not only brands like Hipp and Alete but also own brands from drugstores like dm and Rossmann (prices: 0.59 to 1.25 euros per 190-gram jar). Seven baby porridges tested are good, including vegetarian ones. However, many paps do not provide babies with optimal nutrients.
