If you want to store valuables and cash safely at home, you should not skimp on the safe. Cheap models can be easily stolen and opened. We tested ten small home and furniture safes for around 70 to 400 euros, most of which can hold two A4 folders lying flat. Four scored good, one satisfactory. All of them bear the security label according to the Euro standard DIN EN 14450. The sheet steel safes without the security label, however, are all inadequate.
