Protein powder for athletes is available in almost every supermarket. The target group is recreational and competitive athletes who want to maintain or build up their muscles with "Whey Protein". Stiftung Warentest tested 21 protein powders from drugstores, sports shops and online retailers for benefits and quality. Some powders were found to contain harmful substances. Differences were found in the taste test (prices per serving: 0.43 to 2.43 euros). Conclusion: The products are superfluous for recreational athletes.
