White, firm to creamy, with coconut flavour - virgin coconut oil is in vogue. Stiftung Warentest tested 15 coconut oils. 5 of them are good, 7 satisfactory, 2 sufficient. The coconut oil from Aldi Nord is inadequate: among other things, it contains too many harmful substances. There are also big differences in taste. The test clarifies whether coconut oil is as good for frying as the coconut fat Palmin, and whether the expensive trend oil really helps against Alzheimer's (prices: 11 to 30 euros per litre).
