The brand Veja (pronounced: "vehscha") was founded to create shoes with a new concept, ensuring that neither the workers nor the environment suffer during production. Therefore, all production takes place in Brazil, where Veja collaborates with producers of organic cotton and natural rubber. These producers are informed in advance about how much they will be paid per kilo for their products. The shoes are then sewn in factories that adhere to the rules of the International Labour Organization. This makes the production of a Veja sneaker five times more expensive than that of a conventional sneaker.
