The Veja Campo women's trainers come with an abrasion-resistant inner lining made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, which offers you plenty of flexibility and comfort thanks to its mesh structure. The upper of the shoe is made from lightweight, smooth Chromefree leather from farms in Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. The leather is tanned using an innovative process free of heavy metals, chrome and hazardous acids. At the same time, this simplified tanning process uses fewer chemicals and energy as well as 40% less water and 80% less salt. The water can be reused after tanning.
The Veja (pronounced: wehscha) brand was founded to produce shoes with a concept. Neither the seamstresses and producers nor nature should suffer during production. This is why all production takes place in Brazil, where Veja works with organic cotton and natural rubber producers. They find out in advance how much they will be paid per kilo for their products. The shoes are then sewn in factories that have committed to the rules of the International Labour Organization. This makes the production of a Veja sneaker five times more expensive than that of a conventional sneaker.
Not least thanks to stars such as Emma Watson, Katie Holmes, Meghan Markle and Emily Ratajkowski, who wear Veja shoes and trainers, they have now become a popular fashion trend.
