The ChromeFree cowhide is smooth and lightweight. It comes from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and undergoes an innovative tanning process that does not use chrome, heavy metals, or hazardous acids. By simplifying the tanning process, the use of chemicals and energy is minimized. Water consumption is reduced by about 40%, and salt consumption is reduced by 80%. After tanning, the water can be reused.
