Alpine Minimalist: With the Rupal Light 18, Vaude consciously limits itself to only the necessary elements to create a fully functional daypack weighing just 650 grams. The alpine functionality is reflected in details such as rope attachments, loops for ice tools or trekking poles, and a truly mountain-ready carrying system. The sleek design of the lightweight daypack and Vaude's Ergoshape FoM shoulder straps (Freedom of Movement) ensure maximum freedom of movement while climbing: The two adjustable chest straps pull the shoulder straps inward as needed, allowing arms and shoulders to utilize maximum range of motion. Since the Rupal Light 18 is designed for minimal load, it does not include a padded hip belt. Instead, a slim, removable hip belt stabilizes the load at the body's center of gravity. The back of the backpack is highly water-repellent, provides a compact fit, and features a vertical ventilation channel. The main compartment of the Vaude alpine backpack can be quickly opened or closed with one hand using a cover. Inside, the Rupal Light 18 has a hydration bladder compartment, and on the back, it features a practical zippered pocket for topo maps, smartphones, and more. All of this makes this minimalist backpack the ideal companion for alpine-oriented tours where you want to carry as little weight as possible to focus on the athletic challenge and the landscape. As is typical for Vaude, this backpack is also primarily made from recycled materials that meet bluesign® criteria.
