Product details
Seiko 5 Sports - SRPJ45K1. For over 50 years, Seiko 5 Sports has offered a consistently high level of reliability, durability, performance and value that has endeared it to mechanical watch enthusiasts worldwide. Today, with the creation of a design and a wide collection, this much-loved watch is reborn. Welcome to the Seiko 5 Sports, a collection with the same values but a fresh look. The history of Seiko began in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in Ginza for the repair and sale of watches. In 1892, he opened a factory called Seikosha to produce his own watches. Twenty years later, when pocket watches were still the standard, he experimented with wristwatches, which were the state of the art at the time. In 1913, his company produced Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, the first of many innovations that have advanced the art of watchmaking, including the first quartz wristwatch in 1969 and the groundbreaking Spring Drive technology in 1999. In 2023, Seiko will celebrate the 110th anniversary of its first wristwatch with the release of a series of commemorative timepieces. The celebrations will begin with the announcement of a creation inspired by the 1913 Laurel.
