Samsonite was founded in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder in Denver, starting with the production of heavy wooden trunks. Later, the company was renamed Shwayder Brothers, Inc. The product and/or packaging is made from recycled materials, which is more environmentally friendly as the raw materials do not need to be newly sourced with high effort. Yogurt cups, single-use bottles, plastic waste, and film packaging are integrated into the manufacturing process through recycling.
