Whether as an insulating intermediate layer or as a third layer: The latest version of the Ortles Medium down jacket is part of our warm insulation jackets and is designed for alpine activities in icy temperatures. The jacket combines high thermal performance with a minimal pack size. It features a 90:10 blend of duck down filling and TirolWool® Hybrid-Responsive insulation. These two insulating materials are strategically placed to provide the right warmth retention for different body areas. The duck down is certified according to the Responsible Down Standard and offers pleasant warmth with a fill power of 750 Cuin, even in biting cold. Additionally, the TirolWool® Responsive material retains heat even when wet, which is why it is used in the hood, shoulders, and sleeve cuffs.
The lightweight nylon ripstop outer material protects against abrasion, making it ideal for alpine ventures. The soft, snug, and adjustable hood at the back, along with the high collar, provides extra protection when conditions get stormy and uncomfortable. The ergonomic fit of the sleeves and shoulders allows for a wide range of motion and prevents the jacket from riding up during overhead movements.
The two-way front zipper is particularly practical for climbing, as it always provides access to the harness and belay device. If it gets warm, the jacket can be quickly and easily packed into its own pocket.
The Ortles Medium 3 down jacket for women comes in a medium thickness, combining low weight with a minimal pack size.
