Salewa Sarner Undyed Wool Hooded Jacket

Our progressive interpretation and further development of the classic Sarner jacket: In the Sarner line, Salewa combines tradition and innovation. The Sarner knit construction is paired with modern, hybrid designs and innovative manufacturing techniques to create a warm softshell with a unique look.

The Sarner jacket is made from undyed wool from Tyrolean mountain sheep and fine merino wool, combined with a viscose jersey lining. Thanks to its dense knit construction and high lanolin content, also known as wool wax, the jacket has excellent temperature-regulating properties while also protecting against wind and light rain.

In the Sarntal valley, located north of Bolzano, craftsmanship has a long tradition: even today, the processing of the valuable wool from the mountain sheep grazing on the steep alpine meadows relies heavily on handwork. As a Salewa Committed product, the jacket is made from local wool, which is additionally blended with fine merino fibers. The undyed fibers, which create the natural look, are also a consistent measure to reduce water and energy consumption.

For the features, we focused on the essentials: the jacket has a fitted hood, two zippered pockets for small items, and a button placket with snap buttons.

The Sarner wool softshell impresses with its modern, minimalist aesthetic and successfully brings South Tyrolean mountain tradition into an urban context.
