Whether used as an insulating mid-layer or as a third layer: The latest version of the Ortles Medium Down Jacket is part of our warm insulation jackets and is designed for alpine activities in icy temperatures. The jacket combines high thermal performance with a minimal pack size. It features a 90:10 duck down and TirolWool® Hybrid Responsive insulation. The two insulating materials are strategically placed to provide the right warmth retention for different body areas. The duck down is certified according to the Responsible Down Standard and offers pleasant warmth with a fill power of 750 Cuin, even in freezing conditions. Additionally, the TirolWool® Responsive material retains warmth even when wet, which is why it is used in the hood, shoulders, and sleeve cuffs.

The lightweight nylon ripstop outer material protects against abrasion, making it ideal for alpine endeavors. The fitted, adjustable hood at the back and the high collar provide protection when conditions become stormy and uncomfortable. The ergonomic fit of the sleeves and shoulders allows for a wide range of motion and prevents the jacket from riding up during overhead movements. Also practical is the two-way front zipper, which ensures easy access to the climbing harness and belay device. And when temperatures – or intensity – rise, the jacket can be quickly stowed in its own pocket.
