Product details
A technical down jacket with a hybrid insulation filling for women, ideal for high alpine mountain tours. It features a fitted, lined hood with regulation at the back of the head, a protective and comfortable collar integrated into the hood that reaches up to the chin, and a special underarm construction that ensures the jacket does not slip when climbing. The jacket has a waterproof front zip, Direct Access® chest pocket with zip, an inner pocket in elastic mesh with an elastic edge, and an elasticated tight waistband that protects against snow and wetness.
The body mapping design includes TirolWool® Responsive inserts and an ultra-lightweight downproof construction, made with bluesign® approved materials. High alpine mountaineering inevitably involves small breaks, and when it's very cold, maintaining the right thermal balance can be challenging. The Ortles RDS Hybrid Down Jacket is a technical insulation jacket developed for changing activities in cold conditions.
The body-mapped design keeps you cosy and warm while preventing heat build-up. It is insulated with 90/10, 750 cuin RDS duck down in key areas such as the front torso, back, and arms. In areas where less insulation is needed, like the shoulders, robust and breathable 100 gram Tirol Wool Responsive is used. The underarms and back, where you sweat the most, feature Polartec Alpha Direct Wool to allow body heat and moisture to escape quickly.
The insulation is wrapped in a windproof and water-repellent ripstop outer with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) coating to keep rain and snow out while retaining warmth. This model is a Salewa Committed product that meets strict, third-party verified standards for sustainability and social responsibility. Additionally, the outer fabric is bluesign® nylon, and the down is Responsible Down Standard. This is our most technical insulation jacket for high alpine mountaineering.
