Product details
The Agner hybrid down jacket is a hybrid insulation layer for alpine climbing, where long, cold belaying phases often follow high-intensity routes. The designers at Salewa have carefully tailored the design and materials to the insulation and heat exchange functions of the body during the sweaty, active and cool, calm phases of alpine climbing using body mapping. The hybrid construction developed in this way only warms where the body needs it and puts an end to unnecessary insulation. The down (90/10 high-loft with a fill power of 750) is only used on the upper body, back and shoulders, while lightweight, abrasion-resistant stretch softshell is used in the areas where climbers need more breathability and freedom of movement. But the real secret of the Agner hybrid down jacket is the down chambers, which are welded rather than quilted in the usual way. Laser perforations between the partitions ensure that air can flow freely and excess body heat is dissipated. The result is an outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio with excellent compressibility. In addition, the Agner hybrid down jacket is equipped with a lightweight hood that fits under any helmet and offers additional protection from cold winds. The underarms, sides, hem and hood are made from Salewa's new generation abrasion-resistant 4-way Durastretch softshell, providing the breathability and freedom of movement needed for climbing.
