Product details

This Revolution shirt is made from heavy 8-ball corduroy cotton with a soft, velvety surface. The shirt features distinctive square chest pockets, a tone-on-tone button placket, and adjustable cuffs. For added comfort, it has a traditional double-layered yoke and a boxy back yoke that allows for greater mobility. Wear it as a warm shirt on cold days or layer it over a printed T-shirt or sweatshirt for a casual look. Over the decades, corduroy has been highly valued for its durability and cool appearance. Its origins trace back to ancient Egypt, where it was considered a fabric for the upper class. In the 18th century, corduroy fell in social status as British textile manufacturers developed the distinctive wales that would transform it into the corduroy we know today. The fabric quickly gained appreciation among teachers and academics, and since corduroy was regarded as a very durable material, it became popular for workers' clothing after the Industrial Age. In the 1970s, corduroy achieved a fashionable status as an anti-establishment insignia of a cool working-class fabric, a status that continues to this day.
