Product details
Our development team designed this waterproof jacket to protect children from rain and wind. It provides the best protection for kids playing outside, as this lightweight jacket is both water- and windproof. The ventilation system in the back ensures that the child does not get too warm. This jacket was designed in our development center at the foot of Mont Blanc in France and subsequently manufactured by our suppliers in Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. These partners possess genuine expertise in crafting our jackets, and we work closely with them. This trusting relationship with our industrial partners enables the development of new, technically advanced quality products.
To measure the breathability of a material, the RET test method (Resistance to Evaporative Transfer) is used. This assesses the material's ability to transfer moisture vapor generated by the body to the outside, thereby keeping the skin dry. The smaller the RET value, the more breathable the material. RET ≤ 6: very breathable, RET ≤ 12: breathable, RET ≤ 20: less breathable. Our product has a RET value of 12.
The resistance of a material to water pressure is expressed in mm water column (Norm JIS 1092). The higher the pressure, the more impermeable the fabric. A material with a water impermeability of 5,000 mm can withstand the pressure of a 5 m water column – approximately equivalent to a heavy downpour lasting one hour. Waterproofing is indicated as a water column (e.g., 5,000 mm water column). This specification applies before washing. The fabric is wind- and waterproof due to the coated inner side, as waterproof fabrics are also windproof due to their technical properties. To prevent the body from cooling down, it is important to protect against wind both during movement and while resting.
