In 2017, the Czech Mint launched its first bullion coin featuring the Czech Lion. The coin is available in denominations of 10 oz, 5 oz, 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/25 oz. The Czech national symbol, the Bohemian Lion, adorns the obverse side of the coin. The first documented Bohemian Lion was a symbol of the Přemyslid dynasty and appeared on the equestrian seal of Vladislav Henry from 1203. The lion was elevated to the emblem of the entire country by Ottokar II of Bohemia, the Iron and Golden King. The coin is produced to global standards and makes an excellent addition to any portfolio. The 2025 edition has now been released, and we are pleased to offer this beautiful coin in our webshop and stores. The coin is limited to a mintage of only 3,000 pieces, making it very popular among collectors. The design of the Czech Lion has also been adjusted in the 2025 release year, although the core idea remains the same. The obverse side is dominated by the proud Czech Lion in a particularly realistic depiction, wearing the Wenceslas crown. Another element is the eagle, which represents a synthesis of St. Wenceslas, the Moravian, and the Silesian raptor. Alongside the inscription "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA," the fine weight and purity "1/4 oz Au .9999" are also visible. The reverse side of the coin features the coin portrait of King Charles III. Additionally, the minting year "2025," the name of the issuing country "NIUE," and the face value of "10 DOLLARS" (NZD) can be seen.
