This newly redesigned generation features a flatter silhouette, complemented by a toe area inspired by field sports and retro color lines. The shoe has been updated with a lightweight design that includes a modified cup sole construction, providing superior comfort and enhanced cushioning. Its legendary style mimics the aesthetic of a retro basketball sneaker, enhanced by nostalgic Asics branding, such as the tiger stripes on the quarter panels and the ASICS logo on the heel. The retro basketball aesthetic of the Japan S shoe is further enriched by iconic design details tailored for the court, reminiscent of those worn by basketball players in the 1980s.
