Assembly

Pulling in the laces
Screwing on the fastener
Pull both shoelace ends through one half of the metal capsule each
Put on the shoes to determine the desired length of the laces
Tie a knot in the shoelace at both ends behind the fastener
Cut off both ends of the laces and seal with a lighter
Screw the two parts of the metal capsule together - done.
