Product details

100% Fresh Organic Hawthorn Tea

History:

Long before hawthorn became native to our region, it was known as a medicinal plant in China. Since the Middle Ages, it has been regarded as a tonic, and it wasn't until the second half of the 18th century that its medical use began in Western Europe. Today, hawthorn is highly valued worldwide for its beneficial effects on heart conditions.

Uses / Effects:

  • Strengthens and enhances blood circulation in the heart
  • Harmonizes heart rhythm
  • Improves oxygen supply
  • Provides energy and alleviates mental fatigue
  • Helpful for inner restlessness, nervousness, and insomnia

Taste:

The aroma and flavor are perceived differently by most people. The tea has a slight resemblance to damp, dried hay. It has a mildly sweet and unobtrusive taste. Large amounts can be used in tea blends without hawthorn overpowering the other flavors.

Dosage:

One heaping teaspoon per cup; 3 cups per day. A longer duration of use is recommended.

Synonyms:

Crataegus monogyna, Common Hawthorn, Thornapple, Mayflower, Haws, White Thorn.
