THOMY Tomato Puree

Fruity-aromatic tomato puree. Triple concentrated tomato puree made from 2.1 kg of selected sun-ripened tomatoes. Content: 300 g. The full aromatic flavor of tomatoes from sun-drenched Southern Europe. The Thomy brand was founded in 1930 from the merger of H. Franck Söhne in Basel and the Helvetia factory of the Thomi and Meister families in Langenthal. At that time, mustard was still sold openly in large stone pots. Hans Thomi quickly realized that a special packaging for his mustard was necessary to stand out from competitors. This marked the birth of the famous aluminum tube, an unknown packaging method in the food sector at the time. The new packaging offered the advantage that products in the resealable tube stayed fresher for much longer. To emphasize this innovation, Hans Thomi replaced the "i" in the name with the more internationally suitable "y." Based on their experience with mustard products, Thomy launched the first industrially produced mayonnaise in Europe in 1951. This was followed by other products such as tomato puree, dressings, light products, various sauces, organic items, and ketchup.
