The mythical creature of the Griffon served as the source of inspiration for these exclusive cigars and also adorns the elegant white cigar ring. Oettiger/Davidoff produces and distributes these premium cigars, which are made by the renowned Henrik Kelner, the creator of Davidoff. The Griffon is the heraldic animal of the Griffin's Club in Geneva, founded by Bernard Grobet. Since 1984, the cigar lover and club owner had cigars made exclusively for his club, which were eventually distributed internationally beyond Geneva and Switzerland due to their popularity.

Griffin's Classic is one of the best-known brands from the Dominican Republic. Very mild in flavor and recommended as an entry-level cigar, it is made up of three different types of tobacco and has a typical Connecticut wrapper. The Classic offers mild cigars with very fine and balanced flavors. All formats in this series are characterized by a typically tangy taste with slightly creamy-sweet aromas. Excellently crafted and with excellent draw behavior, typical of all Davidoff products!

The filler tobaccos come entirely from the Dominican Republic, are held together by a binder from Peru, and finally wrapped in a wrapper from Ecuador. The mild characteristics of this cigar make it ideal for tasting with lighter, sweeter rums or milder whiskies.

Unlit, the cigar exudes a slight bitterness on the lips, which is combined with subtle flavors of earth and wood. After lighting up, this changes to floral and herbal, moist notes. In the second and third thirds, the Gran Robusto develops increasing complexity and harmony. This vitola is the perfect introduction to the premium segment for mild cigars, both for beginners and advanced smokers.
