Cranberries grow in small clusters on dwarf shrubs that can reach up to 30 cm in height. The scarlet fruit has a tart and slightly bitter taste. The name comes from the Czech word "brusilina," meaning "brush berry," because they are harvested by stripping. Unlike blueberries, the cranberry plant is evergreen.
