Johannes Gutmann founded Sonnentor Kräuterhandels GmbH in the Waldviertel region in 1988. The core idea was to offer regional, artisanal organic specialties such as tea and spices, as well as many other products, all from a single source. The logo of the smiling sun with 24 rays is a medieval symbol of life and light, which still adorns many farms in the area today and represents Sonnentor's commitment to sustainable, fair organic products.
