To get the most popular Chinese flower tea, the green tea must be steamed with jasmine flowers, thereby the flowers give their scent and aroma to the green tea, then the flowers are removed again. Often the jasmine flower farms are located directly next to the tea farms, so that the flowers reach the green tea as fresh as possible. The jasmine flowers are picked around midday, combined with the green tea on the same day and steamed overnight. A few days must be waited between repeated steaming.
